Shopping in El Paso

Shopping in El Paso is a unique experience because it features a blend of American and Mexican goods that are surrounded by a uniquely Southwestern environment. For this reason, many tourists enjoy shopping here.

Here is a brief traveler's guide that can help visitors enjoy El Paso's wonderful shopping experience...

El Paso's major shopping districts are located in the Downtown area and near El Paso's airport.
El Paso's downtown shopping district features several enclosed malls and local shops. These places sell primarily western wear; imported Mexican furniture and house wares; and a vast selection of West Texas and Southern New Mexico art. Most stores are open seven days a week from around 9 AM-7 PM during the week and from about 9 AM-8 PM on weekends.

The district is located near El Paso's convention center. It can be accessed by car, by bus, or on foot rather easily from San Jacinto Plaza.

El Paso's Airport District is located roughly from Convair Road to Fort Bliss. As a result, there is a wider variety of stores and shops that cater to the military personal and tourists that travel through the area. These shops are open for the most part from 9 AM to about 8 PM every day. They include fashion boutiques, traditional "big box" stores, and shopping centers, which feature local merchants who sell a wide variety of household items and groceries.

El Paso's Airport District also has many shops that sell souvenirs, post cards trinkets, and other knick-knacks that are perfect for tourists who want to remember their visit to the area.

Furthermore, El Paso also has a farmer's market that is a fun place to meet locals.
El Paso's famer's market is located on 3855 West Picacho. It is open every Saturday from 8 AM-12 noon. It features over 100 vendors who sell fresh produce, locally produced dairy products and many cured meat items. Shoppers can find lots of great deals here and the friendly environment makes it a perfect place to meet locals.

Your best time to come to any of these places is during the early morning hours. This is true because there are usually fewer people around shopping. With so many things to look at, this makes it a perfect time to shop to your heart’s content!
